I always knew that music was united by two great antagonistic forces: performance and composition. From the beginning I was very clear about which of these two destinies would represent me: composition was always the place where I knew I would build my refuge, on the other hand, being a performer of other composers' works never made much sense to me. However, there was a time when, in addition to continuing with my composition studies, I dedicated myself, after trying different instruments, to study Piano and for that, I had to face the challenge of approaching my favorite composers and works.

This series of domestic and stripped down recordings were made during the year 2002 with an upright piano in the room I was renting during that time in Buenos Aires.

Within the world of classical music, always so virtuous, neat and demanding, it is difficult to find recordings of this style, so imperfect and spontaneous, this is what prompted me to want to publish and share them, now that I have forgotten how to play them.

The repertoire, although it may seem, has no aesthetic criteria, it is only a memory of my favorite music, which appeared as a lost portrait when I opened a drawer.

Dedicated to Angélica, my mother, for all her love, her unfathomable kindness and sense of life.

Ulises Conti.
